Facebook Messenger now supports instant Article, the social giant has expanded its Instant Articles feature to Messenger platform, the new feature allows users load Instant Articles in a separate Messenger window, instead of a third-party browser. Instant Articles is a mobile publishing format for news and content publishers to help produce fast, interactive articles on Facebook. It is noteworthy that Instant Articles load up to 10 times faster than the normal mobile web hereby saving users’ time and data.

This newly added feature will allow users to access links directly in the Messenger app without having to visit the publisher’s website as well as Ads in Instant Articles will also be displayed automatically. According to the company the new feature will first appear in Android and will be coming next week to iOS. The company also stated that the Instant Articles will be denoted in Messenger by a lightning bolt icon at the top right corner of links that are shared in the app.
Facebook first teamed up with a few content houses, and then made it available to all publishers. The new feature will work in the same manner and way as it did on the Facebook app. Publishers who signed up for Instant Articles, had their stories show up ‘instantly’ in a new app window, instead of a browser.
