Mtn Launches Digital TV Service in Nigeria

Mtn Launches Digital TV Service: MTN Nigeria telecommunication Network on Wednesday took a historical and major step into broadcasting OTT-VOD service in Jos, Plateau State. This simply means that Nigerians can now watch TV programmes on their smartphones and other devices through Over-the-Top platforms such as WhatsApp, BlackBerry Messenger, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram e.t.c.

Mtn Launches Digital TV Service

Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation issued 700MHz spectrum license in last year 2015, which is a digital broadcast license that will enable MTN Nigeria deliver broadcasting services, all together with its core data and voice service delivery business worldwide.

Mtn has been doing so well within these few months, They also plan to Launch their first  4G LTE Service in Nigeria by july.

According to the Chief Executive Officer, MTN Nigeria,  Ferdi Moolman:

subscribers will have the freedom to watch their favourite programmes when they choose the MTN Video-on-Demand service, “rather than having to watch at a specific broadcast time”

“Once we commence full commercial activities, the TV service will deliver an exciting bouquet of rich local and international content to Nigerians”


Honestly, the launch of MTN TV is another bold demonstration of MTN’s strong and long abiding faith in the future of Nigeria people with its  growth and development by updating Nigerians to keep pace with the latest global trends.
