This is really bad news for those that are using Symbian phones, because WhatsApp has already started notifying Symbian platform users that the WhatsApp for Symbian will Stop Working by December 31, 2016. The Facebook-owned messaging app earlier this year had announced that it will drop support for several mobile operating systems from 2017, including Nokia’s Symbian too. I really think its time for the symbian users to switch up to Android.
WhatsApp for Symbian will Stop Working by December 31
All Symbian users worldwide has started to receive a pop-up message. Saying, “Unfortunately, you won’t be able to use WhatsApp after 31/12/2016 because WhatsApp will no longer support your phone.” Earlier February Whatsapp had announced the end of support for Symbian alongside BlackBerry. The messaging service had suggested users to upgrade to a newer Android, iPhone, or Windows Phone so they are extending the grace to December 31, 2016.
The major reasom why WhatsApp is ending the support is because the operating systems of these devices are not offering the kind of capabilities the messaging service needs to expand its app’s features in the future for them to move further.
I hope this article has helped you, For some of my friends that see this as a bad news, please, am really sorry but you have to move on and get a better device for a better surfing of the web. The dead-line is December 31, 2016, do your self good and get an android phone before then.
